Basketball Preview: Woodward Polar Bears vs. Springfield Blue Devils

After two games on the road, Woodward is heading back home. They will take on the Springfield Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Woodward was beaten by the Patriots 75-45.

Meanwhile, Springfield's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight defeat. The game between them and Wauseon wasn't particularly close, with Springfield falling 62-46. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Springfield in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Springfield got a solid performance out of Aaron Adams, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Adams has scored all season. Kai Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Woodward dropped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-13.

Woodward ended up a good deal behind the Blue Devils in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, losing 72-55. Can Woodward avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
