Recap: Jefferson County Warriors vs. East Laurens Falcons
The Jefferson County Warriors suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by East Laurens 84-46. While losing is never fun, Jefferson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 488th, while East Laurens is ranked 103rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Laurens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyan Snead, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Keynon Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Jefferson County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for East Laurens, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Jefferson County will take on Bleckley County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bleckley County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Jefferson County likes a good challenge. As for East Laurens, they will head out on the road to face off against West Laurens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Laurens has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
