Basketball Recap: Keene Comes Up Short

Keene was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 40-33 to the Portsmouth Clippers. The Blackbirds lost against the Clippers in their previous head to head back in January of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-25 score last time.

Keene now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Portsmouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keene will welcome Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portsmouth, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Concord Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Portsmouth likes a good challenge.
