Baseball Recap: Battle Ground Gets the Win

Battle Ground proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 12) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clackamas Cavaliers 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since May 11, 2024.

Battle Ground has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Clackamas, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Ground will square off against Mountain View at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clackamas, they will face off against McNary at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celtics will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
