Basketball Recap: Royal Comes Up Short

Royal was the 59-52 winner over Golden Valley when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Royal Highlanders lost 66-40 to the Golden Valley Grizzlies on Saturday.

Alex Villejo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Golden Valley, going 8 for 15 on his way to 24 points. Villejo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Donovan Webb was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.

Royal now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Golden Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Royal will take on Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Golden Valley, they will square off against Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Golden Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.
