Basketball Recap: Faulkton Takes a Loss

After soaring to 70 points the game before, Faulkton was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They were outmatched by the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds and fell 60-27. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Warbirds are ranked 35th).

Moshe Richmond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wolsey-Wessington, going 8 for 19 on his way to 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Richmond has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Larz Tvedt, who went 5 of 10 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Faulkton is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Wolsey-Wessington, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Faulkton has already played their next game, a 56-39 win against Hitchcock-Tulare on the 10th. As for Wolsey-Wessington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-45 victory against Miller on the 7th.
