Basketball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Marathon Red Raiders, falling 72-48. The Bluejays haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Marathon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Athens will challenge Rib Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Marathon has already played their next game (against Mosinee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
