Recap: Bishop Manogue Miners vs. Douglas Tigers

The Bishop Manogue Miners were the 68-44 winner over the Douglas Tigers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Bishop Manogue fell to Douglas 43-38. Bishop Manogue just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the defeat, Bishop Manogue saw an underclassman step up: Liam Sorensen scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. James Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Bishop Manogue were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Caden Thacker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Douglas, scoring 14 points along with four steals. Thacker set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Pitts, who scored 12 points.

Bishop Manogue's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Douglas, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.

Bishop Manogue will be home for the holidays to greet Wooster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Wooster is ranked 56th, while Bishop Manogue is ranked 61st). Douglas will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Anthony at 2:15 p.m. on December 27th.
