Soccer Recap: Gaston Day Comes Up Short

If Gaston Day was riding high fresh off their 7-2 takedown of Hickory Christian Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 7-5 to the Carmel Christian Cougars on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gaston Day of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Gaston Day now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Carmel Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaston Day will head out to challenge University Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carmel Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. on September 3.
