Softball Recap: Eustace Bulldogs vs. Rice Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mildred, Eustace was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rice Bulldogs with a sharp 13-6 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eustace also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Madilyn Andrews made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Andrews was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with five RBI, a run, and a double.
In other batting news, Sadie Jo Long was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three straight games. Bryleigh Powers was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.
Eustace's win bumped their record up to 7-15-1. As for Rice, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Eustace will head out on the road to square off against Malakoff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Malakoff will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Eustace surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rice, they will be playing at home against Mildred at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
