Volleyball Recap: Montezuma-Cortez Wins Going Away Against Monument Valley

It was a proper cat-fight when Montezuma-Cortez duked it out with Monument Valley on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Cougars 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Montezuma-Cortez was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-13, 25-14.

TessaMercedes Jackson paced Montezuma-Cortez's offense, picking up 20 kills. Jackson got some help from Kescoleigh Boeckman and her 17 assists. Jackson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sarah Sparks, each putting up three.

Montezuma-Cortez's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Monument Valley, their loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7-1.

Looking ahead, Montezuma-Cortez will face off against Bayfield at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monument Valley, they will take on Rock Point at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
