Basketball Game Preview: Orange Panthers vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles

Two dominant guards in Evelyn George and Aliya Trollinger are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Orange Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Eastern Alamance Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Eastern Alamance will be up against a hot Orange team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Orange was the clear victors by a 45-22 margin over Cedar Ridge on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastern Alamance, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They breezed past Southern Alamance to the tune of 55-11 on Monday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Patriots are ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orange pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Eastern Alamance, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Orange won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played on Friday, slipping by Eastern Alamance 64-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Orange since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
