Baseball Recap: Rialto's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Rialto was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Bloomington last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rialto fell just short of the Temecula Valley Golden Bears by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rialto saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzeah Zepeda, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Rialto's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Temecula Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Rialto and Temecula Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Rialto (ranked 114th) will meet Grand Terrace (ranked 532nd) at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rialto 2.6, Grand Terrace 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Temecula Valley will square off against Heritage at 3:15 p.m. on Friday up 184 places (22 vs. 206).
