A Season-Best Performance from Braden Slater Leads Karns City over Redbank Valley

Braden Slater produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Karns City to the win on Friday. Slater rushed for 195 yards and five touchdowns on only nine carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

If the past is any indication, Slater could be in store for another big game when he takes on Bradford on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Slater saw the Owls), he rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Jase Ferguson was instrumental in extending Central Clarion [Clarion/Clarion-Limestone/North Clarion]'s winning streak to seven on Friday. Ferguson was dynamite, throwing for 281 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Ferguson might have his next game, a road matchup with Punxsutawney, circled on his calendar. When Ferguson last faced Punxsutawney back in September of 2023, he threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 97 yards on only 13 carries.

Logan Kohler Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

On Friday, Bradford got the W thanks in part to Logan Kohler playing the best football he has all season. Kohler picked up 172 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He has become a key player for Bradford: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Bradford moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Kohler and Bradford will be playing in front of their home fans against Karns City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Trey Wingard's Big Game Leads Dubois over Ridgway/Johnsonburg

Trey Wingard's big game helped extend DuBois's winning streak to six on Friday. Wingard was dynamite, throwing for 266 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

DuBois pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Wingard's next game is against St. Marys on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.
