Berkeley Prep and Cypress Creek are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. The Buccaneers will square off against the Coyotes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
While Buccaneers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Wednesday's season opener. They blew past Shorecrest Prep 14-4 on Wednesday.
Hannah Cronin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Reese Kurland was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Berkeley Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shorecrest Prep only posted an OBP of .394.
Cypress Creek not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8, 2025 (when they won 19-0). They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Academy at the Lakes. The Coyotes haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Like Berkeley Prep, Cypress Creek also got a great game from a two-way player: Brianna Regan. Throwing, Regan struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Emily Bowling pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Regan went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Bowling went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Lilliana Jayska was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sara Stinard, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Berkeley Prep skirted past Cypress Creek 3-2 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
