Baseball Game Preview: Pepin/Alma vs. Blair-Taylor Wildcats

Pepin/Alma will venture away from home to square off against the Blair-Taylor Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Thursday, Pepin/Alma came up short against Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran and fell 8-4. Pepin/Alma hasn't had much luck with Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Blair-Taylor let Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Monday but luckily Blair-Taylor prevailed anyway. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lancers 8-6. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Pepin/Alma's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Blair-Taylor, their win bumped their record up to 10-7-1.

Pepin/Alma came out on top in a nail-biter against Blair-Taylor when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pepin/Alma since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
