Baseball Recap: Welsh Takes a Loss

Welsh lost against DeQuincy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Welsh Greyhounds fell 7-3 to the DeQuincy Tigers.

Cohen Fontenot made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. He also put up a run, which washis first of the season.

Welsh has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. DeQuincy's win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Welsh and Lutcher will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for DeQuincy, they will take on Oakdale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. DeQuincy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Oakdale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
