Softball Recap: Sterlington Wins Going Away Against West Monroe

Sterlington won the last time they faced West Monroe and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Sterlington and bumps their season record up to 14-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for West Monroe, they dropped their record down to 12-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterlington will welcome Calvary Baptist Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers will roll in looking for their 30th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Monroe, they will host Alexandria at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
