Basketball Game Preview: Logan/Palco vs. Golden Plains Bulldogs

Logan/Palco hasn't had much luck against Golden Plains recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Logan/Palco will face off against the Golden Plains Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Logan/Palco will head into Tuesday's contest out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-35 defeat at the hands of Rawlins County. While losing is never fun, Logan/Palco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Rawlins County is ranked 51st).

Despite the loss, Logan/Palco saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Breyer Delimont went 7 for 11 en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Hailey McClurg was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Golden Plains played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 69-27 loss at the hands of Quinter. Golden Plains was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

Logan/Palco's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Golden Plains, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Logan/Palco couldn't quite finish off Golden Plains when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 39-37. Can Logan/Palco avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
