Football Recap: Stephens County Indians vs. Hebron Christian Lions
Stephens County lost against Hebron Christian back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians were dealt a 51-24 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Lions are ranked 21st).
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Stephens County, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Davon Swinton, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Hebron Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devon Caldwell led the charge by rushing for 238 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Caldwell's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 110 rushing yards. Jarvis Mathurin was in the mix as well, providing Hebron Christian with two touchdowns.

Stephens County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-10 victory against Hart County on the 24th. As for Hebron Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 47-0 win against Franklin County on the 24th.
