Chloe Chappell put in work no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over eight innings while giving up five earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Chappell was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Marley Harrell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsley Parrish, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with a stolen base.

On Ayden - Grifton's side, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Forbes, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Overby, who scored two runs.
