Baseball Game Preview: Glenbard West Hilltoppers vs. York Dukes

For the second straight game, Glenbard West will face off against York. The Hilltoppers will be playing at home against the Dukes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Glenbard West is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Glenbard West didn't have quite enough to beat York and fell 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Hilltoppers have lost by exactly two runs.

For York's part, Jack Lonergan tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts Lonergan has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Fleming, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Nick Allen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for York and bumps their season record up to 17-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Glenbard West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
