Baseball Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. Agoura Chargers
The Saugus Centurions are taking a road trip to take on the Agoura Chargers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Saugus picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Hueneme. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Centurions.
Chase Kline tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
On the hitting side, Saugus got a massive performance out of Zackery Seeley, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Matthew Carta, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI.
Saugus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hueneme only posted a batting average of .130.
Meanwhile, Agoura had just enough and edged out Rio Mesa 4-3 on Wednesday.
Saugus' record now sits at 2-0. As for Agoura, their record now sits at an identical 2-0.
Saugus couldn't quite finish off Agoura in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 5-3. Can Saugus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
