Basketball Recap: South Umpqua Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

South Umpqua came into Monday's match having lost 17 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Gold Beach Panthers on Monday as the South Umpqua Lancers made off with a 63-37 win. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 62-26 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2014.

South Umpqua's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Gold Beach, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

South Umpqua won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Rogue River at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gold Beach, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against South Umpqua at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
