Football Recap: Desoto Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Duncanville + How To Watch

DeSoto faced Duncanville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles lost 48-28 to the Panthers and Pantherettes. The Eagles were down 42-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Ethan Feaster and Legend Howell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Feaster picked up 147 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Howell threw for 236 yards and two touchdowns. Feaster also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because DeSoto is 2-1 when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Maximus The Great Denson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 342 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes for Duncanville. Thanks to that big game, Denson is now up to 15 passing touchdowns on the season. Ayson Theus was Denson's top target, picking up 113 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

DeSoto's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Duncanville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
