Basketball Recap: Covina Takes a Loss

Covina was the 72-42 winner over Wilson when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Covina Colts fell just short of the Wilson Wildcats by a score of 48-45 on Tuesday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wilson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Duncan Quirarte led the charge by going 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Wong, who posted 13 points and five rebounds.

Covina's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Wilson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.

Covina has already played their next matchup, a 71-61 loss against Rowland on the 23rd. As for Wilson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-39 win against Charter Oak on the 23rd.
