Basketball Recap: Abbie O'rourke's Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Kingstown over East Greenwich

South Kingstown was the 80-37 winner over East Greenwich when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The South Kingstown Rebels fell to the East Greenwich Avengers 39-35. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Kingstown lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Abbie O'Rourke, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and five steals. O'Rourke is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella DiGioia, who scored six points and three steals.

South Kingstown's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for East Greenwich, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.

South Kingstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-39 defeat against St. Mary Academy-Bay View on the 28th. As for East Greenwich, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-15 loss against Narragansett on the 28th.
