Volleyball Game Preview: Sunrise Mountain Miners vs. Las Vegas Wildcats + How To Watch

Sunrise Mountain hasn't had much luck against Las Vegas recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Miners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 11 defeats in a row, Sunrise Mountain turned things around against Indian Springs on Thursday. They blew past the Thunderbirds 3-0. The Miners not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 14th (when they won 3-0).

Sunrise Mountain was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-11, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas faced The Meadows School in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since August 29th.

Las Vegas wouldn't go down easily and took The Meadows School into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 13-25, 25-17, 25-17, 18-25, 15-11.

Sunrise Mountain better keep an eye on Veanka Escobedo. She was instrumental in Las Vegas' win, getting 15 digs and three aces.

Sunrise Mountain's win bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Las Vegas, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
