Volleyball Recap: Downey Comes Up Short

Downey's tournament run continued when they took on Mountain House on Saturday. Downey fell 2-0 to Mountain House.

Downey's offense was headlined by Rylan Sanchez and Diego Burgos, who picked up seven kills apiece. Sanchez really made an impact as he also led the team in assists with 11. Finally, Kaiden Grasser kept Downey's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Downey's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Mountain House, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Downey has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Dougherty Valley on the 29th. As for Mountain House, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Archbishop Riordan on the 29th.
