Basketball Recap: Orleans Bulldogs vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Orleans Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to the Vikings 33-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Orleans has scored all season.
Orleans lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mylie Knight, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Callie Alston, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Hannah Bledsoe continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Barr-Reeve, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Bledsoe is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Knepp, who scored five points along with two blocks.
Orleans' loss dropped their record down to 20-4. As for Barr-Reeve, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Orleans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Barr-Reeve and the Eagles will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lanesville comes in on 11 and the Vikings on three.
