Softball Recap: Vilonia Takes Down Van Buren in a Playoff Battle

Vilonia had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Van Buren Pointers by a score of 14-11 on Thursday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Kendal Chamblee was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. LaNaya McLaughlin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Vilonia's win bumped their record up to 20-5. As for Van Buren, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

As of now, neither Vilonia nor the Pointers have any future games scheduled.
