Volleyball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

If Hoover was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Kearny on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals lost 3-0 to the Morse Tigers on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-11, 25-21.

Morse's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hailee Divina, who had four digs, three aces, and one block. Divina is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alivia Rathanasith, who had nine digs and four aces.

Hoover's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-12. As for Morse, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-13.

Coming up, Hoover will be playing at home against San Diego at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Morse, they will be taking part in a tournament against Escondido Charter at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
