Mankato West waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Austin Packers a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Scarlets have won ten matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lydia Banse was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Maria Hagen was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Mankato West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Austin only posted a batting average of .176.

Mankato West pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Austin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Mankato West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Austin, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Kasson-Mantorville on the 21st.
