Softball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Columbia and Poplarville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Columbia had to settle for second. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Poplarville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-10-1.

As of now, neither Columbia nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
