Volleyball Recap: Highland Trojans vs. River Forest Ingots
If River Forest wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Highland, they should've done a better job of containing Alivia Ekanem. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ingots on Wednesday thanks in part to Ekanem, who had 23 assists and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
One reason for the win was Highland's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-13.
River Forest's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aliza Carrion, who had 12 digs. Zoey Lopez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
