Baseball Recap: Lucy Beckham Comes Up Short

Lucy Beckham lost against Stratford back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bengals fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2.

Hunter Doyle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Lucy Beckham saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riles Morris, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Morris' first of the season.

Lucy Beckham's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-6. As for Stratford, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Stratford beat Lucy Beckham by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday.
