Volleyball Recap: Calhoun County Falls Despite Big Games from Cassidy Pough and Ella Mina

Calhoun County lost against Wagener-Salley back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Saints lost 3-0 to the War Eagles. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calhoun County was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Wagener-Salley work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 27-25, 25-18.

Calhoun County's loss came despite strong showings from Ella Mina and Cassidy Pough. Mina had 11 digs and two aces, while Pough had seven kills, seven digs, and four blocks. Pough is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now had four or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Calhoun County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wagener-Salley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
