Soccer Game Preview: Putnam City West vs. Choctaw

Putnam City West is 0-3 against Choctaw since April of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will head out to face off against the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Putnam City West is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Norman, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Putnam City West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Norman are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Choctaw's offense. They lost 10-0 to Norman North on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for Choctaw in their meetings with Norman North: they've now lost three in a row.

Choctaw's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Putnam City West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Putnam City West might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Choctaw in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
