Football Game Preview: Yuba City Honkers vs. Antelope Titans + How To Watch

Yuba City is 0-5 against Antelope since September of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Honkers will square off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Yuba City was handed a 21-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They skirted past Nevada Union 28-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Honkers have posted since September 20, 2024.

Yuba City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dante Lepe, who picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The Honkers also got a significant boost from Hank Watson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 133 yards.

Yuba City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cody Haase.

Meanwhile, Antelope strolled past River Valley with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 42-28. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Yuba City better keep an eye on Philip Goudeaux III. He was instrumental in Antelope's win, rushing for 97 yards and two TDs on only 11 carries. Those 97 rushing yards gave Goudeaux III a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of David Yakubovskiy, who rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Antelope was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Antelope's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: James Jacobson and Jerret Bryant Jr, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win got Yuba City back to even at 5-5. As for Antelope, their record now sits at 3-7.

Yuba City couldn't quite get it done against Antelope when the teams last played back in September of 2023 as they fell 27-20. Can the Honkers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
