Volleyball Recap: Salem Hills Wins High-Profile Match Against Springville

Salem Hills faced Springville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Skyhawks came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Skyhawks: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in April, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

While Salem Hills might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Springville scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-19, 16-25, 25-22.

Preston Taylor paced Salem Hills' offense, picking up 18 kills. Taylor got some help from Talon Roberts and his 36 assists. Kooper Stewart controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Salem Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Springville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Salem Hills will face off against Kearns at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Skyhawks' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. As for Springville, they will host Timpview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Red Devils are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
