Baseball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford managed to slip by Seymour the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolverines lost 11-4 to the Wildcats on Monday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Oxford got a good showing from Octavius Carlson, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Oxford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Huston, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Oxford's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Seymour, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oxford is set to face off against their familiar foe Wolcott at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Seymour will square off against rival Ansonia at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
