Soccer Game Preview: Gulf Coast vs. Golden Gate

Gulf Coast and Golden Gate are an even 4-4-2 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Gulf Coast Sharks will take on the Golden Gate Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Gulf Coast is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on South Fort Myers with a sharp 5-1 win. The score was close at the half, but the Sharks pulled away in the second half with four goals.

Their offense was hitting South Fort Myers from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Golden Gate kept a clean sheet against East Lee County on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Jaguars. Considering the Titans have won six contests by more than four goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Gulf Coast's third in a row) raised their record to 9-7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Golden Gate, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-5 record this season.
