Softball Recap: Shikellamy's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Shikellamy had lost five games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-5 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Danville Ironmen 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the Braves' seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Sydney Sinko was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Aveya Stauffer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

As for Danville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Surprisingly, this marked their seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

On Danville's side, Brynn Wilson and Brianna Blue stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Blue went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Abby Haught, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
