Preview: Roosevelt Teddies vs. Washburn Millers
Roosevelt is 2-8 against Washburn since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Roosevelt Teddies will head out on the road to face off against the Washburn Millers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Washington Tech scored an imposing 77 points on Friday, Roosevelt still came out on top. Roosevelt put the hurt on Washington Tech with a sharp 102-77 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 102-77.
Calvin Peterson was a one-man wrecking crew for Roosevelt as he went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 35 points and 1 assists. The matchup was Peterson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kieran Quinlan, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Tartan scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Washburn still came out on top. Washburn walked away with a 65-57 win over Tartan. The win made it back-to-back wins for Washburn.
Roosevelt now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Washburn, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Roosevelt was dealt a bruising 80-45 loss at the hands of Washburn when the teams last played back in February. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
