Basketball Game Preview: Wolfson Wolfpack vs. ED White Commanders

Wolfson is 1-7 against ED White since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wolfpack will take on the Commanders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wolfson took a 31-point defeat the last time they faced off against Covenant School of Jacksonville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolfpack came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Friday, sneaking past 37-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolfpack.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for ED White on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Ridgeview out of the water with a 61-18 final score. The Commanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

ED White's win came from a few key players that Wolfson will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lyric Hewitt, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 boards and nine assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 12 games she's played. Skylah Pryce was another key player, putting up 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

ED White smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 48 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Wolfson's record now sits at 8-3. As for ED White, their record is now 9-6.

Wolfson took a serious blow against ED White when the teams last played back in November of 2023, falling 83-11. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Wolfpack were down 58-3.
