Basketball Recap: Hannah Bledsoe Key Part of a Team Effort in Vikings Win

Barr-Reeve's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the White River Valley Wolverines by a score of 60-52. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Barr-Reeve got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Bledsoe out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 20 boards. The dominant performance gave Bledsoe a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Liv Emmons, who posted 16 points.

Barr-Reeve smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Barr-Reeve is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for White River Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-4 record.

Barr-Reeve and White River Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Barr-Reeve (ranked 174th) will meet Shoals (ranked 382nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, White River Valley will take on Dugger Union at 6:30 p.m. on Monday up 462 places (148 vs. 610).
