Basketball Recap: Jadyn Climer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hamilton/Warsaw over Pittsfield

After flying high against Astoria/VIT last Tuesday, Hamilton/Warsaw came back down to earth. The Hamilton/Warsaw Titans fell 65-52 to the Pittsfield Saukees on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Saukees are ranked 48th).

Hamilton/Warsaw lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jadyn Climer, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Grothaus, who posted 15 points.

Hamilton/Warsaw has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Pittsfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-4.

Coming up, Hamilton/Warsaw will square off against Central/Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central/Southeastern will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Hamilton/Warsaw surely won't give up without a fight.
