Baseball Game Preview: Boone Braves vs. Olympia Titans

The Boone Braves are taking a road trip to square off against the Olympia Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boone is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

On Monday, Boone didn't have quite enough to beat Apopka and fell 4-3.

Collin Lock was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Boone saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyton Seidl, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Seidl got this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Olympia and Cypress Creek, and Olympia kept the tradition alive. Olympia blew past Cypress Creek 9-3 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

Natas Leman looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Rathmann, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Engerberth Finol was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Olympia's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Boone, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Boone beat Olympia 11-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Boone repeat their success, or does Olympia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
