Softball Recap: Bastrop Comes Up Short

Bastrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Simsboro Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 two weeks ago.

Bastrop saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ryan Jones also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bastrop's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-1. As for Simsboro, they pushed their record up to 20-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Bastrop will welcome Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Simsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
