Basketball Recap: South Allegheny Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

South Allegheny won the last time they faced Shady Side Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The South Allegheny Gladiators took down the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs 73-54. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Allegheny has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Shady Side Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

South Allegheny will be playing at home against Apollo Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shady Side Academy has already played their next game (against South Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
